OK, so I was fully prepared to be bored and hate this, because anyone who knows me knows of my obsession with vampires and vampire stories.  I didn't hate it, I loved it.  Paul was disgusted with the amount of emotion in it (though in my experience vampirism isn't all about hunting people down and eating them.  Vampires have feelings too).  I then pointed out that he hadn't been tied to his chair and could have left at any minute.  I think the problem is, he'd only known it was a film about vampires and didn't realise the target audience of the film or the book.  Anyway, it's now on my wishlist and I might even treat myself to a book or two!

do read the books, i'm 38 and felt like a 17 year old when i read it. she captures teen angst brilliantly and first love etc, i'm looking forward to watchin the film and hope i'm not disappointed with it - so yes you must read the books, i've just replied to your twitter thread so let me know what you think of the book if you do read it

Thanks for letting me know. I need to go into town tomorrow so think I'll treat myself to a trip to the bookshop. I'm off for a week so have plenty of time to catch up!

Ah but the vamps in Supernatural were out in daylight too. lol. Well, I got the book a buit cheaper than normal todday so we'll see...

Yes, BUT but they were all older ones, the one NEW girl was never out in day, and they all had strong aversions to light unless they were uber old vampires. He prances around like there's nothing wrong, and 16ish years wouldn't be long enough to be able to deal with it :P AND THEY DON'T GROW OLD OR BE BORN. but yeah, I may break and read them just so I can yell at the fans better lol.
