Apologies for the language but I'm incensed by this article on the BBC news site today.

How can he say that? It wasn't an accident. The dogs were deliberately left there and the person(s) responsible should be held to account for their actions. Dogs are such loyal animals and, clearly, we all know what excellent work police dogs do and yet these two poor animals have been treated worse than any human would ever be treated under police custody! At the very least, the officer(s) responsible should be prosecuted and banned from ever owning an animal ever again!

That's bad enough, but still people don't realise what they are doing. I don't understand why they can't get it through their thick skulls what they are doings to these poor animals. Time after time you read horror stories such as these and you just know it won't be the last time you read anything like it.

I despise the human race.

it's not an accident that he left them there. but it was probably just a stupid mistake, rather than something deliberatly done.
not that that makes it any better. people leave kids, and pets, in the car far too often. and it was SO hot that day. i keep thinking what a horrible way it was to die. he should go to jail. anyone who hurts someone else in a careless waty like this, be it aniomal or person, should go to jail.

4 police dogs also died IN A POLICE VEHICLE as well. That was hidden in the news it seems.

Either way, no matter what the dogs were in, it shouldn't have happened. If it had been children they would have been had up for manslaughter but because it's dogs, they'll probably get slapped wrists, a bit of a fine and told not to do it again.

I agree with you...put them in a car with no ventilation, no escape from the sun and see how long they bloody last!
