So, it's that time of the year again and I have mixed feelings over Crufts. I love dogs but all the primping and preening is not natural! The BBC has said it won't show the event again so it is being shown live on the internet and the Kennel Club have changed their breeding rules.

There are some great 'anti-Crufts' pics half way down this page.

I've never had a pedigree dog but that doesn't bother me because I've had so much fun with my pooches that I don't need someone to tell me they look good.  Kizzie is such a scruff but she has so much personality.  I would be totally lost without her now.

And what's that about dogs looking like their owners?

Pure breeds are fine. My ex had a Springer Spaniel that was used as a working dog. He was amazing, but as you say, breeding the dogs for looks is just wrong. You wouldn't do it to you children so why do it to an animal who looks up to you and worships the ground you walk on?

Depends on the pure breed. Some have heads to small for their brains so die of strokes, some can't have a natural birth... but yeah.

Springers are hunting dogs, so mostly okay. Most hunting/working gone show are all right, but its the made for fun bulldogs, Taco Bell Dogs, and so on that are fucked all the hell up lol.
