Friendships

I don't have many friends but that's purely by choice.  I like my own company but I also like to know my friends are there if I need them...and they always are, without exception.   (They know who they are)!

One of my closest friends though is someone I have never met face to face;  she's the first person I met on MySpace;  we don't talk as often as we should.  She is one of the most beautiful people I have ever met;  not just on the outside, but on the inside as well.  She has the biggest heart I have ever know a person have but has been dealt some shitty cards in her time.  She doesn't let it stop her though.  She picks herself up and gets on with life.  Her one true love is Jakob, her beloved dog.  He has a beautiful soul, you can see it in his eyes and the two of them are a stunning couple.

I really hope one day I can meet Savannah, even if it's just for 5 minutes to hug her and tell her how much she means to me and not a day goes by that I don't think of her.

Here's to you Sava xxx

Aww that is just lovely.

I met my best mate on an internet forum. We've only known each other for 2 years but it feels like we've known each other forever and we are so alike it's scary.

I get flack for having met her on the internet from quite a few people who think it's "sad" but I can tell you that the people I've met over the net are far nicer than most of the others I know and have been there for me.

I really hope you get to meet Savannah (and Jacob!) in person too.

I never understand why people think it's odd to 'met' someone on the internet?! OK, so there are some weirdos out there but why is it any more odd than going to a pub and talking to some random stranger who could follow you home?

I have a group of friends on the makeup forum (the A Team) and I have met most of them on more than one occasion. We are all pretty close and always know that there will be at least one of them around if we need them.

I think it's nice to have these friendships and sometimes easier than RL ones.

One of the people in question then said "oh did you met your ex-husband on the internet then?" - er no actually I didn't thanks.

I was never one to have many friends when I was younger, the friends I have now are more than I've ever had (oh that sounds self pitying, it isn't meant to) and most of them I met online and like I said they're just awesome and I agree it can sometimes be easier than RL ones.

What does it matter where you met though? I met my current husband in a chat room. It was a 'I need to get on the internet and find a new husband' thing. We chatted, we met up, we got together...

It doesn't sound self pitying at all. I know what you mean!

It was more that she said it really patrionisingly and as if there was something wrong with me! Cheeky little so and so.

That's lovely!

I'm currently on a quest for decent friends, it is going well! I'm happy for you that you have people like that in your life, it's lovely. And I would like to have Jakob please.

Thank you. I really do have the most amazing friends and I'm grateful. Jakob's a darling isn't he?
