How is it that a certain smell or sound can evoke memories, good or bad. The way a day starts can set your mood for the whole day. I'm feeling a bit odd today. The sun is shining but it's terribly chilly. It reminds me of an autumn day and autumn days are never good for me as they bring back too many bad feelings and memories. I should be happy because the sun's shining, but I'm not. I wouldn't say I'm sinking into the depths of despair, but I'm not feeling as good as I should. My life is good at the moment. It's not exactly how I want it to be but it could be a lot worse as well. I guess it doesn't matter how far back your memories go, you can't wipe them out completely...or can you? Seems like there's a drug for just about everything nowadays and bad memories are no exception.

A song or a film that you once loved now holds no attraction for you because a certain person likes it. It's a bit like naming a child. You find a name you like and then remember that horrible child at school with the same name.

I think it's something you have to learn to live with because our experiences shape us into the people we are, for good or bad and whilst we're probably feeling bad about something that 'other person' is probably feeling bad too!
