Writer's Block: Trip Down Memory Lane

What's the best vacation you've ever taken?

South Africa, November 1996.  It was the furthest I'd ever flown and was an absolute nightmare of a journey but well worth it.  We did all the touristy stuff and even stayed at the Sun City Hotel.  Amazing and would love to go back again sometime.  (My children go quite a lot as their grandparents live out there for 6 months of the year).

Some perspective please people.

Call me heartless (even though I'm not) but why has such a big fuss been made over Jade Goody's funeral?  Yes it's a very sad loss and not nice for those involved but why the carry on?  Yes, she wanted to make lots of money for her boys and all credit to her for that but I can't help feel for all the thousand of people who die every year and leave their families.  There were one or two high profile deaths the same week (not to mention a personal friend of mine who died the same day from cancer) and nothing has drawn this much attention.  I also find it in very bad taste that the Government are now considering lowering the age for smear tests when they should have done this years ago.

Thoughts for the day

Where do you buy the things that you used to buy at Woolworths?  I think for me, it's going to be Tesco because they sell just about everything now anyway.

What's my favourite piercing / tattoo?  Possibly my tongue and my tragus.  Favourite tattoo?  My puppy paws on my right foot.

What has made me smile today?  Lots of things but mainly my daughter ringing to say she's bought herself a brand new car.  I'm so proud of her.

Am I looking forward to Lost tonight?  No not really but I know I'll be sitting here watching it.

What do I have planned for my week off?  Bugger all.  I have to go back to the optician tomorrow about my new contact lenses...not sure I like them as much as my old ones really.  Taking the boy with me to spend his birthday money and the rest of teh week will no doubt be spent doing nothing...weather dependent.

Why was Harley a gibbering wreck earlier today?  I was brushing and trimming Kizzie which she thought was great fun but Harley refused to acknowledge I could be doing anything so horrendous.
